Bridlewild Hike #5

The Bridlewild Trail system in Lower Merion which contains 35 miles of marked trails and probably double that number of unmarked trails is a real gem. The more we explore, the more beautiful and amazing things we find.
What we call hike #5 is a 2.5-3 hour hike through a variety of terrains and secret passages. It is hilly and you can't find your way back on your own. Even with a map we will need to regularly take bearings. Some places we will pass include Saunders Woods, Idlewild Farm, and Dove Lake as well as at least one estate as big as Versailles. Bring a camera.

All welcome to my place after the hike for food and drink. Bring something to share or we can order out or something. Let me know if you are interested in comment area.

Use this Google Map link to the starting point.

No carpool from Hill House because I'm starting at another location.

Warm weather hike info:
1- Put on sun bloc before leaving home.
2- For hikes in a park it's best to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants for protection against bugs, thorn bushes, poison ivy, etc. I'm often regretful when I don't take my own advice.
3- Bring lots of water. Best to get a 3 liter hydration pack or reservoir.
4- Only a forecast of thunderstorms and torrential rains will cancel a hike. A normal rain is no problem in warm weather.

Two days before the event I usually email a weather update.

Have your event fee ready in dollar bills so we can get going right away. No coins, dubloons, or 5's or 10"s. Thank you.

Please be aware of our group rating system. We need 5 stars ratings or no rating. http://www.hikingarou...

If you change your mind please change your RSVP. No-shows may be barred from events. Email or call if you have a problem.

Okay to bring fido. Please read the Doggy Page first: http://www.hikingarou...
