The early bird gets the worm, however we're looking for more than worms at the Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum. If you have never been here, you will feel like you are being transformed as you cross into the area from a shabby Philadelphia neighborhood. Be prepared to observe great blue herons, egrets, cormorants, eagles, owls, and dozens of other smaller birds.
We're starting early for two reasons: one, the birds are out in the morning; two, we're going to Sabrina's (hopefully) for brunch. The best brunch in Philly and the crowds confirm that! Comment about Sabrina's when you RSVP so we know who's interested.
We will do the 7.5 loop walk at Tinicum which will take between 2-3 hours. It's flat. After the walk we'll call Sabrina's near the Italian Market - 910 Christian Street, Philadelphia - [masked] -- to make reservations. Link to Sabrina's. http://local.google.c...

Always good idea to bring some food and your camera.
Warm weather hike info:
1- Put on sun bloc before leaving home.
2- For hikes in a park it's best to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants for protection against bugs, thorn bushes, poison ivy, etc. I'm often regretful when I don't take my own advice.
3- Bring lots of water. Best to get a 3 liter hydration pack or reservoir.
4- Only a forecast of thunderstorms and torrential rains will cancel a hike. A normal rain is no problem in warm weather.
