Wissahickon Rain Hike
Because of the rain forecast we have rescheduled the Wildflowers + Butterfly Hike for Aug 14 and are doing a rain hike on Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon.
Some of the my most memorable hikes have been in the summer rain. It's quiet, unique and not cold. Of course you need to hike in the right place. We have it right here: Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon.
Forbidden Drive is great in the rain. One, it won't get muddy. Two, it's protected by trees overhead. Three, the path is large and flat. Four, it's beautiful in the rain especially because we will be walking right next to the raging Wissahickon.
We'll hike 8 miles round trip to Rittenhousetown. Bring an extra pair of socks, dry clothing to change into, and an umbrella.
We plan to be done by 2pm.
