Bicycling on a hot day is a lot easier than walking because you make your own breeze. On the Friday rides we're bicycling for 2-3 hours at an easy pace. Each ride will be different.
In each case you need a bicycle that can handle dirt roads with some rocks. Make sure you have sufficient air in your tires and that your brakes work. For more about bicycling visit: http://www.hikingarou...
This week we are meeting at the end of Pennypack Park on the Delaware. We head west on the curvy up and down bike path towards Pine Rd and Fox Chase Farms. Depending on the time and weather we may continue towards Lorimar Park and try the new bike path. We'll bike for 2-3 hours.
Sometimes with a week or so notice we can start the ride from elsewhere.
Use this Google Map link to the starting point: http://local.google.c...
Always good idea to bring some food, your camera, and on hot days a dry shirt that you can change into.
Warm weather hike info:
• Apply sunscreen before leaving home. See more about sunscreens under Files.
• Bring lots of water. Best to get a 3 liter hydration pack or reservoir. More about water: http://www.hikingarou...
• Only a forecast of thunderstorms and torrential rains will cancel a hike. A normal rain is no problem in warm weather.
color=orangered]If the weather is iffy I'll email a weather report a few days before the hike.. To see more about the weather visit: http://www.hikingarou...
