Today we will head down some really small back streets in Olde City that I love before heading over towards Queen Village. We then head uptown, west, towards the Schuylkill. We'll find some neat alleyways uptown before heading for Dim Sum at Ocean Harbor about 12:30. Afterwards we head to the PA Academy of Fine Arts at Broad & Cherry for a tour at 2pm.
We start just outside the DownHome Diner at Reading Terminal. See this link: http://local.google.c...
We head through Chinatown towards Olde City. We'll pass the Firemans Museum and Elfreths Alley and a lot of other alleys before heading south to Queen Village. Hopefully we'll find some houses older than those at the more famous Elpreths Alley. We then pick up the pace and head west towards the Schuylkill River via small streets and alleyways. We walk north towards the center city and then meander to Ocean Harbor around 1230. Afterwards we will head to one of the neatest museums in the city: The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.. Here's a link the musuem: http://www.pafa.org/M...
Special group admission is $10 each. This entitles us to a tour that I rescheduled for 2pm (hopefully they got the message) and a look at the special collections in a building next door. The special collections include a bunch of Andy Warhol prints and many other neat exhibits. I've never seen the special collections. ... And you should be aware of the 60 million dollar painting, The Gross Clinic, that was recently restored by actually painting over many parts to change the color. And the building itself is a nice work of art designed by Frank Furness.
To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen, 19118) meet at 845am. Each carpooler chips in $2 at the start. Make sure to email me if you want to carpool. Here's a Google Map link to Hill House.

Always good idea to bring some food, your camera, and on hot days a dry shirt that you can change into.
Warm weather hike info:
• Apply sunscreen before leaving home. See more about sunscreens under Files.
• On real hot days, bring an umbrella for the sun. Highly recommend: http://www.campmor.co...
• Bring lots of water. Best to get a 3 liter hydration pack or reservoir. More about water: http://www.hikingarou...
• Only a forecast of thunderstorms and torrential rains will cancel a hike. A normal rain is no problem in warm weather.
color=orangered]If the weather is iffy I'll email a weather report a few days before the hike.. To see more about the weather visit: http://www.hikingarou...
