1- Check Google Maps to see the direct route to the meeting spot from your area. Note the major highways that people might use. Also check the Google train directions to see how close public transportation take you.
2- You can always carpool with me from Hill House. I always charge a fixed amount.
3- Sign up one week early and "comment" that you need a ride from your area. For your area, be as specific as possible. Always best to mention a shopping center or major landmark.
4- Consider going to a more central area or to a location near the meeting spot.
Obviously getting to know people in the group will help you carpool.
