I am greatly bothered when someone wants to rush to the end of a hike for one reason or another, even if I'm right on schedule. Reconsider coming if you can't stay to the end, or make arrangements with me to leave early if it's absolutely necessary. If you give yourself an extra hour, you will never feel rushed at an event.
Here's an example of how you should plan.
Meetup time is 1pm. Hike length 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Most likely we will be back by 430pm. However, you need to give me till 530pm in your plans. Someone insistent on arriving 15 minutes early drives me crazy.
About 95%-100% of the time I'm right on schedule. If we are a bit late its usually because we started late, someone is having trouble keeping up, or something unexpected came up. If I want to go a longer route, I usually let the group decide.
If you can't be flexible time-wise, you need to make special arrangements or reconsider coming.
